It's looking up!

Again, I apologize for my previous downer-of-a-post. But now, things are looking up! We received our homestudy draft yesterday via email and I combed through it at lightening speed. We emailed today the necessary changes and are crossing our fingers for that to be done quickly and emailed to AGCI for approval. Then we can get some notarized copies and finally send off to CIS. Yay!!! This is some good news. I am super excited.

I want to say a big shout out to those of you who've been sending me bits of encouragement and laughter. It helped so much! Now I am even more committed to commenting on other blog pages...even though I'm often fearful that people will think I'm a weirdo. (I haven't come to grips yet that it may possibly be the truth.) So, look out blogworld, here come my comments!

So. This is goooooood news. I feel totally refreshed, both spiritually and emotionally.

Another fun thing that happened is (drumroll) that all the material and supplies were purchased to start making baby bedding! Yay! When you're the last girl (of everyone you know) to set up nursery, you're not left with a lot of options that aren't taken by your cousin, your friend, your neighbor, etc...and I couldn't find anything that I was totally in love with. So, I combed the fabric stores with my wonderfully amazing grandmother and finally found something. Yay! So we purchased all of it. No joke, we took every last inch of two of the fabrics. This baby is going to have one rockin room. Can you tell that I am excited? Well, I am.

And I promise, cruise pics are coming. In the ship's library, there was a giant globe. That's all I'm telling you for now. It's the coolest picture. It's so cool that Justin even made it his background pic. That's serious real estate.

The weather is tooo perfect here so I'm going to enjoy it!

Nell Ann you better keep dropping by. I think you are a breath of fresh air and love to hear from you.

Score with the completed homestudy. Can't wait for you to get it approved and then your copies to mail off. It seems like that waiting list may be in sight, although our CIS office is taking 5-6 weeks for FDLs at the moment.

Can't wait to see pictures of the babies room and the globe picture sounds pretty promising!

Wow! Last week we were a couple of blog land complainers and yesterday we BOTH got our home study rough draft - imagine that!! I am so excited and was literally beaming yesterday. I know I was driving home from work with a cheese ball grin plastered to my face and it's so fun to know that you were probably doing the exact same thing for the exact same reason! So happy for you!

So happy things are moving along in the right direction - to your babe!! I want to see pictures of the fabric! Are you sewing or is Gma? Can't wait to see it!

Oh - and our #2? We're talking about starting next year - that way our girl (yes girl next time around!) will be home around the time Micah is 3 - and she will be around 6-12 months, so that is perfect. Now if everything else could just fall into place perfectly. :)

How exciting! I wish I would have been better at my blog reading because I could totally relate to your waiting before the official wait. We waited what seemed like FOREVER for our homestudy. It took an eternity to get our DCFS approval. There wasn't a blemish on our report, it just sat on someone's desk FAR too long. I made one phone call (after about 10 previous attempts), miraculously got a motivated person on the line, she found our paperwork and sent us sailing! I pray things pick up for you in the coming stages!!

Well look at you crafty the crafter! You must post pictures of the bedding once you make it! I wish I was better at that stuff...I tried to make a pair of Pj's once and of course one leg was long than the other and the croch ripped out. OHH WELL obviously God didn't call me to sew! :-)

Hi Nell Ann,
I came upon your blog and realized that you and your husband are using the same adoption agency as me and my husband! All God's Children (Ethiopia program). And I think we are both at the same place! Martha is reviewing our home study now and then we have to send off to USCIS, which for our local office is taking up to 4 months =(

I will be praying for speed for you! How nice to know we're with the same people. Feel free to email me at sunny.nelson@gmail.com, we can chat any time!

ps. we are requesting a baby boy, how about you?

God Bless, Sunny
