So I got an email today stating that our home visit for the home study is this coming Thursday...Valentine's Day. Which means I have four days to get everything else done and the house ready and I'm a little bit in panic mode because I feel like there is still so much to do!!!
Our SW, Amanda, will come out to our house Thursday, take a week to write our homestudy, send it to AGCI for proofing, and then in another week's time have it finalized and done. Three weeks until our homestudy is completely complete!!!
I have so much to do! How in the world am I going to get it all done?
Eeek!

Oh, I remember the dread of the home visit - excited, but you feel the urge to redo your entire house. Don't stress too much - she is just there to see if you house is safe - not perfect. You guys should definitely plan a night out for Valentine's Day to celebrate that hurdle!!
woo-hoo!! It will be an extra special Valentines Day. I am sure that you are thrilled. I cannot wait for you to be waiting.
Nell Ann- Let me tell you...getting my house ready to sell this weekend was WAY more work than getting it ready for our home studies! The social worker barely looked around, but our real estate agents are so PICKY! They even mentioned the dust on our baseboards! The main part of the home study is an interview with you two, so just be yourselves and you will do fine!!
I'm so glad you are getting to experience the homestudy. I think that was one of my favorite parts, because actually got to "talk" with a real person (our agency is on the east coast and were on the west!).
Don't stress, just tidy up and relax (ahaha I know thats so not possible) It's wayyyyyy simpliar than you think!
Don't panic - your social worker is on your side in this. She isn't there to judge your house. They don't open closets, or look too closely, so don't deep clean - more like, dash and stash :)
Good luck on the home study today. I can't wait to hear how it goes because this is definitely the part I am most stressed about!
